We're creating a greater future for Indianapolis.

Our Mission

To eradicate poverty, promote upward mobility, and to empower those we serve to become self-sufficient.

CAGI has pursued its mission since its incorporation in 1965, and the constellation of services we provide has grown and evolved as the shape and face of poverty has changed and the needs of our clients have changed.

Our Programs

We've created a host of programs to build self-reliant, self-determinant communities. Our programs serve residents of Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, and Marion Counties in Indiana.

Our housing programs are a comprehensive initiative designed to address the housing needs of the local community. It aims to provide affordable, safe, and sustainable housing options for individuals and families in need.

Our financial wellness programs promote financial literacy and provide resources to help individuals and families improve their financial well-being and achieve their financial goals.

Our leadership programs equip individuals with essential skills and knowledge to become effective leaders, foster personal growth, build confidence, and empower them to make a positive impact in their communities.

Our Impact

Since 1965, Community Action of Greater Indianapolis (CAGI) has assisted more than 40,000 lower wealth households and 100,000 residents of Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, and Tipton Counties.
